Meet The Founder

Brian Ethridge

Brian is a certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), a certified yoga teacher (RTY500), and the founder of Tejas Yoga Lab. He specializes in helping clients with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) using a holistic exploration of the whole person. His practice includes pranayama, meditation, yoga asana, and discussion. Brian’s passion for yoga began after searching for ways to make him more flexible for jiu-jitsu competitions. He quickly realized the powerful impact it could have on the mind and body.

After exploring the physical benefits of yoga practice, Brian decided to take his practice further by becoming a certified yoga teacher. Through yoga teacher training and self-study, he began exploring the philosophies and spiritual depth of traditional yoga practices. This exploration cascaded into self-healing discoveries, greater inner peace, and a desire to help others find the same.

He then went on to study advanced training in yoga therapy, specifically to help those suffering from PTSD. Brian’s unique approach is built on his service in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman and sniper. He served two combat tours in Iraq and, as a civilian, worked seven years in various combat zones for the U.S. Government. He was medically retired after an auto-immune disorder diagnosis and struggled with PTSD. His methods include the physical practice of yoga (asana) with the use of breathwork (pranayama), meditation, music, and open discussions to help clients down-regulate their nervous system and find a sense of calm and inner peace.

In addition to teaching at his own studio, Brian also works with veterans and first responders, providing them with specialized sessions to help them cope with the trauma they have experienced. He also works with therapists, psychiatrists, and other healthcare providers to provide a holistic approach to treatment for his clients.

With Brian’s guidance and expertise, his clients have been able to find relief from the symptoms of PTSD, such as anxiety, depression, and chronic pain, and have been able to lead more fulfilling lives.
